World of Warcraft is by one of the most popular video games released in the past decade, and there’s nothing like a good LAN party on the weekend! Bring your friends around, hook up your computers, and get conquering the world of Azeroth!
Sometimes, though, endless hours of gaming can be exhausting. You may have spent many hours leveling up, and you finally finished that incredibly difficult quest to defeat an opponent that was long a match for your skills. It’s over, so now what? You feel like you can’t look at another spell, sword strike, or healing potion without needing to scream. If you’ve had enough, why not take a break?
Here are five things to do if you’re sick and tired of playing Warcraft for the time being.
1. Break out the console
PC gaming is fun, but there’s something wonderful about being able to play Sonic, Mario Kart, Street Fighter, or Call of Duty on your Playstation, Xbox, or Wii.
If you’re burned out, why not switch over to a totally different type of game on the console of your choice? You’ll still be able to game with your friends, but you can choose from hundreds of other games … none of which include Warcraft or MMORPGs.
2. Get out of the house
Yes, it may have come to that! You should definitely consider leaving your house for a bit of exercise, since you’ve spent more than enough time sitting down. Sure, conquering Azeroth is hard work, but why not enjoy some fun in the sun?
Hang out with your friends in person over a few beers by the pool, or organize a football game in your backyard. When you sit back down to play later, you’ll be ready to get your game on!
3. Eat up
You’ll find that taking a snack or lunch break can help to ease the tension and exhaustion of your gaming. If you’ve been eating cup noodles and drinking energy drinks for the last few hours, some real nutrition would go a long way.
Whether you order a pizza, whip up a fresh salad, or enjoy a plate of pasta, a hot, freshly prepared meal will get you in the mood for some hard-core gaming once again!
4. Do some role playing
If you can’t get enough of the fantasy world but want a break from Warcraft, why not break out your character sheets, the Dungeon Master board, your D20 dice, and the latest Dungeons and Dragons rulebook?
You can still enjoy all of the fun of fantasy, but in a way that no computer game can accomplish. You’ll be able to control every action of your character, and it’s a way to have fun with your friends without having to stare at a computer screen for hours.
5. Change your game
If you’re still interested in playing computer games but are tired of World of Warcraft, you can always find another game to play. Many great games are available online for free, or you can download free games to your hard drive to play any time you want.
Puzzle games will challenge your brain; action games can give you a break from RPGs. You’ll find that these games a whole lot of fun, and they will give you a welcome a break from your character in World of Warcraft. When you get back to your game, you’ll be ready to come out swinging and dominate Azeroth the way you were meant to!
